The
tradition of smoking shisha dates back thousands of years to parts of
Asia
and the Middle-East. Although smoking shisha is not the focal point of any
gathering, it certainly is a must have accessory; along with traditional
mint tea. At Markaz Café and Shisha Lounge we have tried to create just
such an environment that nourishes friendships, conversation, and
relaxation to the delightful sounds of the “hubbly bubbly”.
At
Markaz we are proud to serve our very own herbal shisha being manufactured
to our specifications in
Egypt
. This shisha contains no traces of Tobacco or other contaminants.
Manufacturing one’s own shisha requires months of R&D and partnering
with the right people and the mandate to control the quality of every
batch. We started with molasses derived from dates and infused it with
various fruit essences. The result is an incredibly flavourful and true
representation of the real fruit. We are extremely proud and excited about
our herbal shisha and look forward to sharing it with you.
By
popular demand, we are also offering the premium AL-Fakher brand tobacco
shisha served on our 75 seat patio. AL-Fakher is the most recognized and
demanded traditional shisha in the market and we are looking forward to
our patio service commencing in late March 2010.
During
our R&D, we also invented some specialty shisha combinations that
enhance the smoking experience for our customers. We are delighted to
provide additional information about our specialty shisha in person.
Suggested
Etiquettes of smoking shisha:
It
is preferred that all smokers have their own shisha pipe. If sharing,
please limit two users per pipe and use plastic mouth tips provided. Do
not manipulate the shisha yourself or use foreign substances.
Smoking
shisha is a communal activity and enjoyed most when relaxed. Therefore
there is no maximum or minimum number of draws per user. Enjoy your smoke
and then pass the pipe. Shisha pipes should always rest on the ground to
avoid spillage and visual interference. Do not direct exhale towards other
users. Use discretion; avoid foul language and speaking loudly.
